This new construction home on Turkey Creek was designed and built by me, with intentions of it being the “forever home” for the customer. This house was primarily inspired by the early descriptions of what eventually became known as the “Modern farmhouse” look. Classic looking window over hangs, board and batten siding and special ordered, handmade adobe brick from Mexico, make this house the “Bell of the Ball” for curb appeal in this neighborhood. There wasn’t a single detail of this house that went untouched. There were custom handrails for the stairs, designed and sketched first, then built by a local welder, as well as one-of-a-kind stained glass panels built to highlight the custom kitchen, laid out perfectly for family dinners or formal parties. Dramatically designed beam work highlights this stunning family room with a breathtaking, dry-stacked, stone fireplace that reaches over 25’ tall! The rooms and closets were all designed to be big and roomy, offering plenty of space to “live”, while adding special finishes and fixtures, built-in storage, etc., to increase its livability. (Best illustrated by its double set of washers and driers, cutting laundry time in half!) A great deal of time was spent on the implementation of energy efficient features, including foam insulation, tankless on-demand hot water heaters and ultra-high efficiency HVAC. Coming in at around 5000 sqft of living space, this house is not only a visual stunner, it’s a real world-class performer, generating energy bills at pennies on the dollar!
